The unusual name

The term ''Gung Ho'' was used in China back in 1938, to refer to the small industrial operations that replaced the industrial centers that were captured by the Japanese and basically meant ''work together''. After American troops that were stationed in China returned to the states, they left impressed by the industrial cooperation in China. Lt. Col. Evans Carlson was appointed commander of the 2nd Marine Raider Battalion. He recalled his time in China and choose gung ho as the motto for his battalion. Later this was widely adopted by the marine corps as an expression of spirit and ''can do'' attitude.

The name Gung Ho Social stood out to me for a number of reasons. It's an East meets West term which is much like me. Being an Australian living in Asia for the last three and a half years, everyday for me is a new experience about the East. Also it's usage in the Chinese language and English is exactly what I want to do for businesses. To work together and express a ''can do'' attitude.
